Meet Aimee
Aimee Smith is the Director of KIN Advisory. An experienced sustainability and climate change professional with over 20 years experience working across government, business and education, Aimee is passionate about building more sustainable, resilient and connected communities and taking urgent action on climate change.
Aimee specialises in the human side of climate change, sustianability and net zero efforts, seeing that the biggest challenges we face to meaningful action on the climate and ecoloigical crises are cultural, social, political and systemic…aka of the human scale.
Aimee can absolutely support you to capture and measure your emissions data, set a net zero roadmaps and help you navigate ISSB reporting etc. (Did we mention she has a Masters in Sustainability and Climate Policy from Curtin University).
What she is really good at is deep engagement with your staff, stakeholders and/or community in these processes. Aimee can hold the space for one helluva workshop, and bring diverse voices and perspectives together in safe and productive ways. She can get creative (did we mention she trained at WAAPA and used to be a professional artist) and is an excellent communicator.
Aimee is particularly passionate about building resilience and addressing adaptation as a critical and complementary part of climate action (alongside reducing our emissions (mitigation).
She see this moment of transformation as an enormous opportunity to get a lot of things right….but knows we have to go about it with care, compassion, deep thinking, radical collaboration and a decent dose of courage.
What our clients are saying…
“Aimee did an amazing job of navigating our organisation and broader community through our climate adaptation planning process. This can be quite a confronting topic but Aimee found a balance between understanding the impacts of climate change and identifying the opportunities that come with building local resilience. Our Climate Adaptation Plan has a great mix of practical actions and reflects a heartfelt sense of community that is really important to our Shire.”
Katie Biggs, Shire of Augusta Margaret River
“Aimee’s expertise, attention to detail, and approachable speaking style elevated our Let’s Talk, Freo! public engagement campaign where we asked thousands of people to help us shape the vision for Fremantle’s future over a 10-year horizon. Aimee was also instrumental in helping us stress test our proposed engagement tactics with the public, and adjust our approach accordingly.”
City of Fremantle
“We worked with Aimee on an environmental audit for our touring theatre company based out of Aotearoa New Zealand. Aimee came recommended to us by other friends in the arts as being understanding of the unique ways of our sector, and we couldn't have been happier. Aimee was flexible, friendly and down to earth, making the complex science and heartbreaking realities of environmental consciousness a bit easier to understand and deal with. She was very open to understanding the weird-and-wonderful ways the theatre sector works, and she was very happy to take the time to explain anything we were confused by. She is an excellent collaborator and communicator - highly recommend.”
